Tony West
Mr. West has more than 25 years of experience working in the public and private sectors, including the federal government and leading technology and private equity companies, during which time he has gained extensive experience in the areas of public policy, executive management, governance and the law.
Mr. West is the Senior Vice President, Chief Legal Officer, and Corporate Secretary of Uber Technologies, Inc. ("Uber"), a global technology platform providing mobility as a service, and has served in that role since 2017, where Mr. West leads Uber's global Legal, Compliance and Ethics, and Security functions.
Mr. West is the Director of Ro, a direct-to-patient healthcare company since 2020.
Previously, Mr. West was the Director of Khosla Ventures Acquisition Co. from 2021 to 2023, Executive Vice President of Public Policy and Government Affairs, General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at PepsiCo from 2014 to 2017, Associate Attorney General of the United States from 2012 to 2014, Assistant Attorney General for the Civil Division in the U.S. Department of Justice from 2009 to 2012, litigation partner at Morrison & Foerster LLP from 2001 to 2009, Special Assistant Attorney General, California Department of Justice from 1999 to 2001, Assistant United States Attorney in the Northern District of California, U.S. Department of Justice from 1994 to 1999 and Special Assistant to the Deputy Attorney General, U.S. Department of Justice from 1993 to 1994.
Mr. West is a member of the board of NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, which is part of the Obama Foundation's My Brother's Keeper Alliance Advisory Counsel.
Mr. West graduated with honors from Harvard College, where he served as a publisher of the Harvard Political Review, and he received a JD from Stanford Law School, where he was President of the Stanford Law Review.
